Documentary & portrait photography — Cairo, Egypt
I photograph the parts of Egypt people walk past.
Documentary and portrait work across Cairo, Alexandria, and the south. Editorial commissions, brand stories, and long-form personal projects.

About
Twelve years of looking closely.
I started photographing downtown Cairo in 2013 because I kept walking the same streets and kept missing them. The camera was a way to slow down. It still is.
My work sits between documentary and portraiture — I'm less interested in a decisive moment than in what someone looks like when they stop performing. Most of my projects take two or three years.
I shoot on film for personal work and digital for commissions. I print everything, eventually.
